Let me help you - Capture That Image

Paul French, a photographer for over 50 years, a media industry senior professional for more than 25 of those years – I was in at the start of the digital age! Recognised by various Photography organisations including RPS, Society of Photographers, OU, Getty and Reuters. “Professional Mentoring” abilities are established being a Fellow of both the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs.

As your Photography Mentor I will help you grow in confidence thereby enabling you to See, Make and Take the photograph you want using your kit and then, show you how to enhance or manipulate your photographs in Postproduction.

I have the established knowledge, practical experience, resource and ability to help you to See, Make and Take a picture or in other words, I will help you Capture That Image – again and again and again!

Every individual is different in their ability to grasp and adopt the methods, tools and techniques necessary to create the photograph they want to capture, rather than simply accepting what the camera or phone delivers after the click of a button.

So, if you are ready to take the next step and get to grips with your camera, focus on your technique and develop your confidence we now need to talk about how, between us, we can develop a programme that will achieve your ambitions and Capture That Image.

It is worth looking at some of the words passed down by Ansel Adams, one of the Masters of Photography, from the early years of the last century, but the words are still very relevant; -

• There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs

• The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it

• A good photograph is knowing where to stand

• You don’t take a photograph, you make it

• It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument

• Photograph not only what you see but also what you feel

• Sometimes I get to places just when God’s ready to have someone click the shutter

Then there is another valuable and very true quote from another of the great early masters ‘Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst’. I am in the process of changing one of my cameras with a shutter count of 157,800 – I am just glad it is a digital camera and not film!
